KETAMINE-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY

"The work of bettering yourself is the quiet rebellion of motherhood—because when you heal, generations after you breathe easier." - Unknown

Christina Swift, LPC, PMH-C

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor certified in Perinatal Mental Health and trained in Group Psychotherapy. I primarily work with individuals and facilitate process groups in the state of Colorado.

I am a good fit for someone who is:

  • 18 years and older

  • thinking of parenthood or are a new parent

  • managing infertility or loss

  • struggling with a treatment-resistant disorder and interested in alternative psychedelic therapy

  • desiring to learn more about yourself while being in relationship to others

“Without therapists, we are very unreliable narrators of our own stories.” - Russian Doll

Living is becoming a daunting task in this age of technology, inflation, and social media. Seemingly more overwhelming as we navigate a million responsibilities in such a fast-paced and individuated society. I have come to believe that therapy gives us a space to breathe from life’s challenges. A sacred home to be with yourself honestly, to be held in loving kindness, to repair old wounds, and to re-write stuck self narratives (“I am not a good mom; I am unworthy of love; I am broken”). My therapeutic approach is highly relational with an intention to reunite you with your authentic self.

This profound and hard work will develop awareness and understanding of yourself. With this discovery, you will lean into who you really are and move through the world with increased ease, confidence, and relational connection. Oscar Wilde says, Be yourself, everyone else is already taken” and I couldn’t agree more.

Services

  • Have you begun the pregnancy journey and it’s not working? Are you pregnant and now entirely freaked out? Have you experienced deep loss? Prenatal therapy offers vital emotional support during a time of profound physical, psychological, and relational change. It’s a safe space to explore these feelings, manage mood fluctuations, and address concerns related to identity, body image, and preparation for parenthood.

  • After one becomes a parent it is often accompanied with intense anxiety or fear, sadness and confusion, obsessions, intrusive thoughts and so much more. I personally understand the postpartum period and how ungrounding it can be. We will identify what you’re experiencing, normalize it, and find tools to mange it.

  • Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a promising, evidence-based approach for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other treatment-resistant mental health conditions. I provide KAP in a safe, supportive, and professionally guided environment to help clients access deeper emotional insight and healing.

  • Group psychotherapy provides a powerful, supportive environment to explore oneself in relationship to others. In a time of profound division, group work can support us to come back into the room together and (re)awaken communication skills for understanding and connection. Learn to be assertively kind, identify and set boundaries, and increase vulnerability!

Testimonials

  • Taylor G.

I began working with Christina early 2021, and it’s hard to overstate how much of an impact our work together has had on my life. From the very beginning, she created a space that felt safe, supportive, and real. It was a place where I could actually do the work and feel like I wasn’t doing it alone. Therapy with Christina has always felt like a true collaboration. She encouraged me to stay engaged, not just during our sessions but in between them too, which helped me stay connected to the process and to myself.

Over time, we explored how my family dynamics have shaped the way I see myself and move through the world. We worked through periods of anxiety and depression, the emotional and physical challenges of PMDD, and the often uncomfortable but rewarding process of building self-trust and confidence. Through it all, Christina helped me reconnect with who I am beyond old patterns, fear, and self-doubt.

Therapy is never really “finished”, but I now have tools, insights, and a stronger sense of emotional stability that help me navigate life in a way that feels more grounded and meaningful. I’m incredibly grateful for the work Christina and I have done together.

Working with Christina has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. When I first started seeing her, I was drowning in postpartum anxiety and struggling deeply with the transition into motherhood. Christina helped me sort through those emotions with compassion and understanding.

She supported me through the strain postpartum put on my marriage, my relationship with my body, and my sense of self. Rather than just talking things through, she helped me reconnect with my body and work through trauma in a way that felt safe, validating, and truly life-changing.

Our work gave me tools I still use today, and I felt genuinely heard and understood throughout the process. Thanks to Christina, I feel like myself again—more connected, more present, and able to enjoy motherhood. She’s kind, wise, and incredibly gifted at what she does.

Christina meets you where you’re at and stays with you through it all. We laugh together, we cry together – sometimes in the same session! Through my work with Christina, I have learned how to cope with emotions that once felt insurmountable.

She has helped me identify patterns in my thoughts and behaviors that weren’t serving me and offered insightful feedback that has empowered me to change. I feel comfortable sharing every part of my life with Christina; we have tackled trauma, addiction, depression, and more. Her kindness and empathy are without limit. Christina listens to me, supports me, and most importantly challenges me to be the best I can be.

Christina encouraged me to try ketamine therapy and it has been one of the greatest tools in combating my treatment-resistant depression. Currently I am sober and living. Really living.

Christina is truly a partner for all of life’s challenges and I can’t recommend her enough as a therapist.

My work with Christina has been one of the most meaningful and impactful relationships of my life. Her empathy, care, and insight have shaped the way I understand myself and move through the world.

One moment early on still stands out to me. When I shared that I wanted structure and accountability, Christina responded, “Maybe, if that is what will serve you best, but let’s see.” In that moment, I felt her commitment to understanding me as an individual. That care defined our work together.

In addition to working with Christina in individual therapy, I also had the privilege of working with her in long term group therapy, and the group experience was extraordinary.

It was unlike anything I have experienced before or since. The group served as a powerful mirror, offering insight into how others perceived you and how your words landed. I took something entirely different, and equally valuable, from group work as I did from individual sessions.

Christina genuinely cares, meets people as individuals, and creates space for meaningful, lasting change. I will always be deeply grateful for the impact she has had on my life.
